Sick, Sick, Sick Bad-Beat AGAIN!

Bad-beat-againI am now just wondering what I have to do in order to win a main event in this damn place.

Things are so unfortunate for me I have even added a whole category called ‘Bad-Beats’. Everyone gets their fair share of bad-beats, but this is just insane. In the five tournaments I have entered in the World Series, I have had them take me out each time!

Today I was 1 hour and 36 minutes into the tournament when I looked down at Ace, Ace – Yippee!

I raised to about 4 times the big blind and a guy re-raises, so I have to put him on a strong hand pre-flop.

Flop comes, 9, 2, 8.

Obviously, having put him on a strong hand, I anticipated he must have something like Queen, Queen or King, King, or Ace, King or perhaps even aces too.

He raised all-in and I called. He showed Queens and started walking when he saw my pocket Aces.

The turn card was another 9 And the river was a QUEEN!

Still, at least dad is still in and I am hoping to report some more positive news on his behalf later.

Bad Beats Continue

JackBadBeatARRGGHHH!

Look at this bad baby!

Looking down at pocket queens and love it and a guy raised. He had been calling bets all day with rubbish, so I put him on a lowish pair or ace with a semi-kicker.

The flop came 9D, 8S, 7S

I quite liked this flop apart from the flush draw. So I decided to raise about 5 times the size of the blind. He pushed all in and I sat and thought about it.

My thoughts were as follows: If he has pocket 9s or a straight then he deseves to win, but there is no way I really thought he was beating my quens. I called and was delighted when he showed Jacks.

The guy’s face was a picture when he saw my queens and he started to leave the tabe. The turn card was a 4, but it was a spade giving hin the flush draw.

We both thought he had lost when the last card (2 Clubs) came out and he did walk away, until the dealer said the flush wins. I looked at my Queens and they were both red. HE HIT RUNNER, RUNNER CLUB to take the hand down. :(

Ouch! Not a good day

Event 32 at the WSOP

LittleBigCard was playing early in the tournament and was dealt A,A, – Yippee!

A guy raises 1200 pre-flop and LittleBigCard raised again to 3000. The big blind then went all in and the other guy called. Naturally LittleBigCard called and showed A,A. The other guys were gutted because they showed the same hand each of King, 10. A great start you may think. Not so. The flop came 9, Jack, Queen! They both hit the nut straight and LBC was walking.

A little later LittleBigCard recomposed himself and entered a satellite tournament for the main event where two seats were up for grabs. Out of 67 entrants LittleBigCard was left with three other players and was 2nd chip leader when he was dealt K, K. LittleBigCard raised and the chip leader went all in. LBC considered his options and called.

The guy showed pocket Aces! LBC did not hit a king and was gone. A bad day for LBC which made him wonder if it is even worth going into the main event.

Your comments please…

Little Big Card takes his first big hit!

What can I say..

I went to the Venetian earlier today and entered their weekly $550 tournament. All was going well and I was the 2nd chip leader on my table. Then this happened.

I was holding A, K and just called as there were only two others in still in and I was big blind. The flop comes.

K, K, Q

Small blind raises and I re-raise. He thinks about it and goes all in. I think and he cannot be winning so naturally I call. He shows A, Q.

Currently I am winning with trip Kings. He hits a Queen on the turn and I don’t mind because I have a full house (Kings over Queens).

River card: Queen

HE HIT QUAD QUEENS on the turn and river after going all in on the flop!

Good Play or Bad-Beat Number 4?

$330 Qualifier for Main Event.

Got to bed late so I am posting this a day later.

Entered my last satellite to try to get into the main event quite cheaply. There were 370 entrants each paying $330 which meant that 10 seats were available to the top ten players.

I was cruising and was above the chip count when there were just 3 tables left.

I was dealt A, K.

My rule this year is to drop A, K if someone raises because I have seen it bust so many people and lose their chips and major money. I was able to call and see a flop.

Flop K, J,

A guy checks (who had made several bluffs earlier in the day) and I wanted to knock him off a flush draw as 2 diamonds were out. So I thought I’d raise.

He re-raised and went all in!

He turned over Queens and was gutted.

He rivered me with a queen and he ended up with a seat. Was this wrong play Mr Cummings?

Tourny Result!

As you know, I was rather short stacked this morning with only $10,800 when the chip average was $32,000.

I made some moves with some good cards and good bluffs with bad and was soon back in the race with over $40,000.

I carried on working for hours and got my stack up to over $100,000. (The average at this point was bang on $100,000).

Darren had arrived and was a great support.

I contemplated going for a pee as there were only two minutes left on the clock before the next break. I looked at my cards and saw K, K.

As the blinds and antes were already quite high $4,000 & $2,000 + $500 ante I thought I’d make it quite expensive for someone to call. A guy goes all in.

Inside, I am laughing and call his bet and push all in.

He shows J, 8. WHAT WAS HE THINKING – putting his tournament life on the line when I have made such a raise from early position?

Flop comes 6, 9, 10

Turn 9

River a Queen! AARRRGGGHHHH!

I was out in 66th position with a payout of $7,400 – Gutted!

Yet another bad-beat from an absolute fool (Really). I truly believe that had he had not called Or if I had won the hand I would be on the final table tomorrow on TV playing for a WSOP bracelet and $700,000.

The sad thing is, is with play like that he is also NOT destined to make the final table as he can’t continue to be that lucky.

To prove this to all of you who think I am telling porkys, here is a photo of the hand. (Click on it to enlarge).

I know I earned money, but I believe that bad-beat cost me a minimum of $40,000 in REAL CASH!
