Goodbye America – Hello England!

lasvegasindian2

This is just a short note to all the 1,000s of people who have wished me well in Las Vegas.

In particular, to all the people I have met since the World Series who have stopped me in the street and asked for autographs and pictures etc. I have been astounded at the level of kindness and sincerity I have found in everyone in America. Now, this particular chapter is over as I have been asked by the BBC for an interview next week. I found it quite fitting that this is the last photo which was taken in Las Vegas.

Thanks in particular to Mike on Thursday night who I was heads up with on the final table at the Bellagio for their daily tournament. Sorry I cracked your aces to take the trophy. Anyway, it seems fitting to end this particular chapter with this…

Winning in Caesars

espnTomorrow is the day all poker fans have been waiting for. The start of this years world series of poker TV coverage begins. For the guys back home in England I believe this is only in the USA – sorry!

CaesarChiefWinI have just managed to win  the main tournament in Caesars Palace and am being taken seriously. During the past few weeks I have been contacted 4 separate companies and agencies for sponsorship purposes. I am not allowed to say who or what has been mentioned until a final decision has been made with the offers on the table.

The funniest thing is that I only entered it to try to win a 2009 winners medal; only to find out that they have finished making them this year.

The biggest problem for me now is, can I take my Indian gear back to the UK.

Winning in the Venetian!

Andy1For all my family and friends.

I went out on Friday night (I hope that is allowed), and managed to come 4th in the main evening tournament at the Venetian.

Sorry for the cryptic message above but it will make sense to a few people. :)

Anyway, from a field of exactly 100 people I managed to come 4th winning a reasonable amount of cash.

When I got to the final table I had a whopping great $220,000 in chips and was by far the chip-leader. The chip average at that time was $65,000.

However, when you get pocket 10s and the flop comes A, J, rag with someone raising like mad you have to fold. This kind of scenario happened a few times and naturally when I had A, K the flop would be low.

Oh well, really enjoyed the evening and the company I was playing with. Look forward to seeing you all again sometime.

Winning BIG in Las Vegas!

I am not sure what you expect to find under a title such as ‘Winning big in Las Vegas’ but this is what happened.

winning

As Little Big Card was dished out of the tournament yesterday, he and Darren decided to take a day off in the sun. By the way, the temperature in the pool is only 28 degrees C (Not to make you jealous or anything).

After a small relax and a game of bowling we decided to see the strip for the first time this trip.

Little Big Card put $20 into a slot maching and won $1,250. Wow!

He resumes play iun the World Series on Monday at noon…

Little Big Card takes his first big hit!

What can I say..

I went to the Venetian earlier today and entered their weekly $550 tournament. All was going well and I was the 2nd chip leader on my table. Then this happened.

I was holding A, K and just called as there were only two others in still in and I was big blind. The flop comes.

K, K, Q

Small blind raises and I re-raise. He thinks about it and goes all in. I think and he cannot be winning so naturally I call. He shows A, Q.

Currently I am winning with trip Kings. He hits a Queen on the turn and I don’t mind because I have a full house (Kings over Queens).

River card: Queen

HE HIT QUAD QUEENS on the turn and river after going all in on the flop!

Ice is BACK!

For those of you that are interested, Andy Fields is back in Las Vegas

Ice Diamond decided to enter two relatively small tournaments today and got sucked out of the first pretty quickly.

However, not disheartened, Ice went to Caesars Palace and entered their main bounty tournament of the day. The starting chips were $5,000 and there were 29 entrants.

It wasn’t long before he was in a commanding position as chip leader and had four times the chip average. By the first break however, Ice had only taken one scalp for a $50 bonus.

Three hours into the tournament and Ice made the final table. Now he was slightly below the chip average and had to make some moves.

Everything worked out and Ice once again found himself chip leader with over $150,000 in chips. Ice came heads-up with a Chinese gentleman who was rather aggressive. Ice waited patiently until he looked down at pocket kings. This was the time to make the move.

Flop K, Q, Q

Ice checks and Chinese man goes $5,000. Ice thinks for some time and flat calls.

Turn 5

Ice checks again and Chinese man makes a big raise. Ice pauses and calls again.

River 2

Ice checks and Chinese man goes all in. He shows his A, Q and ges to collect the chips.

GOTCHA!

I would also like to extend a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to my friend and work colleague Darren Cornwell who also won his first tournament today. You can view more about this trip on his website at http://www.irregularactivity.co.uk

(I won’t tell you how much as you may get jealous and I am sorry there are no pictures as I do not have my card reader here).

Now I’ve your attention!

Will post some interesting things later which you may enjoy.

I signed my first autograph yesterday for a lovely lady in the Paris and her friend. I believe that must have been you Tracey who left a comment yesterday. Good luck whilst you’re in town!

Many of you may know that I do magic a bit so I thought we may just do some David Blaine style on-the-fly video and see the reaction of people.

Check this site about midday tomorrow for more info.

By the way, we were at ‘The Price is Right’ game-show today but unfortunately neither Darren or I were called on stage. The woman who won a cruise, car and all the stuff at the end was bored and timid. It was a nightmare for the host as most people jump around.

Darren and I had an agreement, that if either of us were called on stage we would put on a posh accent and say that we came over with our butler and point at the other in the audience!

Mood Changer…

Naturally I was in a bad mood for the evening even though I had great fun showing Darren around.

Then I saw this and realised that things could be worse.

At least we are having a good time and I earned some money.
